Due to the high calorie content of peanuts they should only really be fed to cage and aviary birds as treats.

Peanuts
Peanuts are very high in calories so perfect for wild birds as they need a high calorie diet to survive, especially those that overwinter with us in the UK. Our peanuts are always aflatoxin tested upon entering the country.
Always use a wire mesh feeder when feeding peanuts especially during the breeding season to prevent parent birds feeding whole nuts to their young and causing them to choke.
